Jabal Uhud Archery is the one and only archery places in Malang. It’s located at Bumi Palapa Block F Number 9 Tunggulwulung, Lowokwaru, Malang City, East Java. Actually, The Jabal Uhud Archery was located in Manarul Islam Mosque, Sawojajar. But they decided to moved into SMKN 9 Malang and moved again in Bumi Palapa Houses caused by something. The Jabal Uhud Archery were established by Coach Arif Kurniawan when he was having trip to Salatiga and met his senior that now become the leader of INASP (Indonesian Archery School Program). During in Salatiga, he was guided by his senior about how to manage a club. And finally, he decided to established Archery Club by himself. The name of “Jabal Uhud” itself were taken from Uhud war that they dominantly use arrows by moslem side. Unfortunately, the moslems army must defeated caused by temted the treasures that stolen by the archer. In short, an archer must be patient and practice hard. Jabal Uhud Archery also have an Archery Community named Jabal Uhud Archery Club that has some program. First, the regular classes. But the participant on this class must be registered to their member. They also have proficiency certification of Archery with different classification depends on the capability from each person. There are 4 levels in Archery. The requirement for people who wants to register, they must at least 7 years old. There is no limited ages. For the administration is about 150.000 each person with 4 times training for a month. And the training schedule of Jabal Uhud Archery are Monday, Saturday and Sunday. And also many other program like coaching clinic, fun trial, and extracullicular session.
The place of Jabal Uhud Archery Club are is so shady and fill up with many trees that make the air feels so fresh and not afraid to the sunlight. The way to get there is so easy. The situation in there is so peaceful and uncontaminated with some noisy sound. It will support us to have training all day long. But the place is so narrow, so the arrows could be out from the target and can be hurt someone around there. The safety is also weak, there is no safety parking lot because they still park their motorcycles on the roadside. The opportunities that can be had by Jabal Uhud Archery Club is when we are being the organizer of Jabal Uhud itself, we can make some training or seminar to increasing our archery skills and we also has personality like our prophet Muhammad SAW. Therefore we must know well about Islamic History in order to increasing our archery abilities well.
The Jabal Uhud Archery is the one and only archery places that exist in Malang City. The are many advantages both in the community or the place. Altough there are some lack in their training ground, but it will not discourage our enthusiasm in learning archery.
