Plastic waste can decompose in the soil for 1000 years. Therefore, to reduce waste every year, plastic waste must be recycled. One method of recycling plastic waste is ecobricking.
Ecobrick bottles are bottles that contain plastic waste that has been cleaned, dried and compacted. Ecobrick bottle media can be used as reinforcement for foundations, chairs and tables.
In the campus environment, there are still many academics and students who still consume plastic. The plastics consumed end up in the trash and around the campus environment in a splattered manner. Therefore, to overcome this, the promotion of ecobrick activities on campus is very necessary.
The benefit of promoting ecobricks in the campus environment is that it increases the concern and love of academics and students for the beauty of the campus environment. On the other hand, promoting ecobrick activities in the campus environment can increase student creativity in utilizing empty spots in the campus environment to beautify the campus and also increase student income in selling ecobricks in the online market.
It can be concluded that in reducing plastic waste, the concern of each individual is needed. With care, it will increase the sense of love for the environment and ignite the sense of creativity of each individual. The individual in question is the younger generation. This is because, the younger generation is a milestone of change.
